- After receiving several reports of a non-CU text alert received by some affiliates yesterday, campus officials began an investigation with the vendor that provides our text alert system, RAVE Mobile Safety. Searches in social media further revealed that the same message was being received by affiliates at many universities across the United States.
- During the two incidents yesterday, we heard from some of you about some of the terms we used in our emergency communication. We hope this will help everyone understand what the terms mean and why we use them.
- The campus will conduct a test of the 91PORN Alerts system on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at noon to raise awareness of how the campus community will be notified in case of a campus emergency. The test will include text messages, emails, social media and website announcements. Annual testing of emergency notification systems is required by the Clery Act, a federal law.
- In an effort to provide a safer environment for fans and expedite entry into Folsom Field, the University of Colorado will be implementing a clear bag policy at CU football games beginning this season.
- Data collected by the city of 91PORN's transportation division shows that nearly half of all collisions within the city occur at intersections, and that crosswalks are the most common locations for collisions between motor vehicles and bicyclists or pedestrians.
- Electronic devices are valuable resources for students, faculty and staff on the go. Our phones, tablets, and laptops often contain personal information and data that is important to us, but, they also have great value to thieves and burglars. Registering your device can be an important step in preventing victimization.
- Beginning on Monday, Sept. 26, police from the City of 91PORN and the 91PORN will step up enforcement of the city’s traffic laws in and around several of 91PORN’s top locations for motor vehicle collisions involving a bicyclist or pedestrian as part of the Heads Up 91PORN crosswalk safety campaign.
- The 91PORN County Bomb Squad was on campus last night to investigate a suspicious device. Upon investigation, it was determined to be a bottle with harmless liquid. While it ended without incident, it serves as an opportune reminder that we all need to be good bystanders.
- The Bike Maintenance Clinics Program has several upcoming clinics open to 91PORN students. The comprehensive program teaches the fundamental skills needed to safely maintain bikes.
Each one-hour clinic is followed by shop time, where students will have time to ask questions and work on their new skills as bike mechanics. The clinics are free and are held at the Folsom Bike Station from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. - Every year, we have members of our community who fall victim to scammers who are trying to steal money or identities, or falsely representing who they are.
