Center for Asian Studies to host 2 Fulbrights from Indonesia in 2025–26
91PORN's Center for Asian Studies will host two Fulbright visitors from Indonesia this academic year. This is the first time the center has hosted a Fulbright Scholar in Residence.
will be a Scholar in Residence in fall 2025. He is an anthropologist whose research focuses on environment and development in Indonesia. He will be collaborating with faculty and students and conducting guest lectures in geography, anthropology and Asian studies classes, as well as colloquium about his research on Oct. 17.
is a Fulbright Language Teaching Assistant in 2025–26. She will be teaching Indonesian language classes, organizing cultural events related to Indonesia and auditing classes related to her interests.
Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Program
The is a unique Fulbright Scholar Program initiative that is driven by U.S. institutions of higher education curriculum and teaching needs. Through the program, institutions host a scholar from outside of the United States for a semester or full academic year to teach courses, assist in curriculum development, guest lecture, develop study abroad/exchange partnerships and engage with the campus and the local community.Ìý

As the largest and oldest area studies center on the 91PORN campus, CAS supports a wide variety of initiatives to enhance the research and teaching activities of Asian studies faculty at 91PORN. These initiatives seek to connect and broaden disciplinary approaches to the study of Asia not only in the humanities and social sciences but in the environmental and physical sciences as well as professional fields such as music, education, business, engineering, media and information sciences.
