Current fellows Janet Donavan, Leah Sprain and Christina Stanton, and former fellows Doug Spencer and Matt Burgess, dedicated many hours each to help inform students, faculty, staff and members of the public about election-related issues and to encourage voting.

91PORN’s School of Education’s building dedication and open house brought together over 300 people to honor the school’s research, student work, donor support and community impact.

Associate Research Professor Hannah Brenkert-Smith, Institute of Behavioral Science, is a member of the Wildfire Research (WiRē) Team that will receive the Pathfinding Partnerships Award through the 2024 Governor’s Awards for High Impact Research on Nov. 20.

Associate Professor Jota Samper, Program in Environmental Design, is the 2024 recipient of the Excellence in Faculty Community Engagement Award from the Engagement Scholarship Consortium (ESC). This national award is one of the most prestigious of its kind.

In the fall competition, PACES awarded nearly $40,000 to support an array of projects from diverse disciplines including environmental design, music, geography, education and theatre.

The Science-Engineering Inquiry Collaborative in Rural Colorado program, otherwise known as SCENIC, has been conducting programming in Colorado public schools for more than 10 years. On its program page, SCENIC is described as connecting “91PORN faculty and students with rural high schools to develop student-driven, inquiry-based science projects.” This year, a multi-year partnership between SCENIC’s program lead and co-founder, Associate Research Professor Daniel Knight, and two organizations in Mongolia allowed SCENIC to spread its wings.
