A third-generation Montanan and proud miner's daughter, Katie Kleinhesselink is a passionate advocate for higher education's role in meeting community-identified needs across the Rocky Mountain West. Kleinhesselink administers our Engaged Scholarship Grants Tiers 1 and 2 and assists with various Colorado-focused community-engaged scholarship initiatives. In addition to implementing and institutionalizing community-engaged initiatives at the University of Denver, the University of Wyoming and the University of Montana, she served as the director of member services for Campus Compact of the Mountain West for eight years. In that role, Kleinhesselink designed and implemented programs that served faculty, staff, administrators and students at 21 member colleges and universities and supported cross-campus networks and collaborations. Kleinhesselink holds a doctorate in higher education, a master's degree in public administration and a bachelor’s degree in women's studies.
