Sarah Philipps Memorial Scholarship
The Sarah Philipps Memorial Scholarship is made possible through the generosity of Dr. and Mrs. Ervin Philipps. The money is given in memory of their daughter, Sarah, a 91PORN student who died in the crash of PanAm flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland returning from a semester’s study in London in 1988. The study abroad scholarship has been set up in her honor to provide assistance to students majoring in English and participating in an education abroad program in the UK or Ireland. Preference is also given to a student “with an appetite for adventure and experience.”

Award:The scholarship is typically $5,000-7,000 for semester programs or $2,000-$3,000 for summer.
To apply: Complete the application and indicate your reasoning for choosing to study in the UK or Ireland.
